KY Zeta brings in $4,500 for a scholarship fund from the memorial golf scramble held in KY Zeta Alumni JB Blakeman's name. All Proceeds went into a scholarship account held by MSU Foundation Inc. KY Zeta would like to thank everyone who participated and made the JB Blakeman Memorial Golf Scramble a success!

Kentucky Zeta has tied with Kentucky Epsilon of Murray State for recruitment with 30 new members, this also places Kentucky Zeta tied for 5th out of all chapters in the deep south region. A very successful Fall 2012 recruitment!

Four recipients of the Glenn Buchanan Balanced Man Scholarship were recognized during the annual awards ceremony on August 17, 2012. Presented by the KY Zeta Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, the scholarship recognizes students who have exhibited an outstanding balance of success throughout high school. A total of $1,750 in scholarships was awarded to incoming Morehead State University freshmen. While consideration is given to students who have demonstrated success living out the Fraternitys values of academic excellence, leadership, athletics and service to others, the scholarship in no way requires membership, or promise of membership, in the Fraternity. The four scholarship recipients are: Joel Neuhart, Cincinnati, Ohio, first place ($1,000); and finalists (each receiving $250) Austin Monnett, Clay City; Wade Curtsinger, Shepherdsville; and Austin Newsome, South Shore. Neuhart is an Eagle Scout, was on the academic honor roll all semesters, played varsity football and was on the varsity track team at Turpin High School. Monnett graduated with honors from Powell County High School, played varsity basketball and ran cross country, and served on mission trips to Haiti and New Orleans. Curtsinger graduated in the top 10 of his Bullitt Central High School class, played varsity football and soccer, and was active in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Newsome graduated with honors from Greenup County High School, played varsity soccer and was on the track and field team, was active in FBLA and was co-anchor of Greenup County Television. The scholarship awards are presented annually as part of the Universitys move-in day activities so families and friends can attend while on campus that day. The scholarship is funded by an endowment established by alumni and friends of the KY Zeta Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
